Reloads and scheduling
Create reload schedules in Qlik, chain one reload after another, see the log and run a reload right away.
Screen and button names are shown as they appear in the Qovern app in English. To switch the app language, open the account menu and choose Language.
Qovern creates and edits reload schedules in Qlik Cloud itself. What you do here also applies for anyone who opens Qlik, and what was created in Qlik shows up here. Available on the Pro and Enterprise plans.
Where schedules live
- In each app’s Scheduling button, on the Apps screen: the schedules for that app.
- In the Reloads menu: all of the customer’s schedules, drawn as a flow of boxes connected by lines. Chains (one reload triggering another) appear in cards; standalone schedules, in a grid. There is a search and a Chained only filter.
Create a time-based schedule
- In Reloads, click New reload and choose the app. Or, on the app, open Scheduling.
- Give it a title (we suggest
Schedule - <app>). - Under When to run, choose On days and times and set:
- fixed times: the weekdays, the hours and the minute; or
- every N minutes (5, 10, 15, 20 or 30), with the days and the range of hours in which it may run.
- Save.
Times follow the Brasília time zone (America/Sao_Paulo).
Chain reloads
A chained reload runs when another one finishes. There are two ways to create one:
- in the ⋮ menu of a reload in Reloads, Add after this one, or the + button at the end of the box;
- when creating a schedule, under When to run, choose After another schedule and pick the source schedule.
Choose the condition: When it finishes successfully, When it fails, or When it finishes, successfully or not. A chained reload has no time of its own. To change its source, delete it and create it again.
Edit, enable, disable and delete
In each reload’s ⋮ menu:
- Edit: title, days and times (only the title for a chained one);
- enable or disable, without deleting;
- delete. If other reloads depend on it, Qovern tells you how many will stop running before you confirm.
Attention, someone else’s schedule: when Qovern changes a schedule created by another person, Qlik transfers it to Qovern’s service account, and the reload starts running as that account. Qovern asks for confirmation first. If the app has Section Access written outside Qovern, make sure the service account is in the rules, otherwise the reload ends with
No access after reload.
See the log
View log, in the ⋮ menu, shows the log of the reload’s last run, with a copy button. It is the summary Qlik provides (error, script line, reload ID). The detailed script log is still only in Qlik.
Run now
Run now triggers the reload right away, without waiting for its time. It is available to administrators and managers and is disabled while the last run is still running or queued.
Who can do what
| Administrator | Manager | Reader | |
|---|---|---|---|
| See schedules and logs | yes | yes | yes |
| Create, edit, delete | any app | only managed apps assigned to them | no |
| Run now | yes | yes | no |
Requirement: Qovern’s service account must be an administrator of the app’s space. Being TenantAdmin is not enough.
